Overview

Liga-èbi Dêtîkè was founded in time immemorial, reportedly some time durring the late 8th century, by G̈îlëi Tsmêmê. The establishment of Liga-èbi Dêtîkè suffered from several major issues, resulting in the need to develop many solutions to basic problems. Problems such as a lack of fresh water, logistical support, poor quality tools, and the odd monster or two. Howeaver, these were overcome in time.

Liga-èbi Dêtîkè was built using the conventions of Iron Elven durring the late 8th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Liga-èbi Dêtîkè is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature masoned stone construction which prominantly features pointed arches, pointed ribbed vault cielings, flying buttress', and window tracery all of which share a simmilar gemoetetic patern halfway between organic and inorganic in design formaing a very distinct aesthetically integrated style. BUildings tend to reach for the havens, and more expencive homes are easily identified by their floor count as well as the addition of decorative features intigrated into the building's design such as statues, gargoyals, and embelished joinery.

Liga-èbi Dêtîkè is buildings are arranged arrounded a highly ordered system of premissive cobblestone streets which form triangular paterns, allowing the incides of the octagons to be common grounds for the buildings on the edges, be it for parkland, yardspace, plazas, or markets. The town posesses a mighty albit amaturly crafted stone wall. It was built using querried stone blocks and posesses all of the standard defencive features, including a few watch towers. While it would last against a siege, the wall's outdated and simplistic construction method percludes the possability of Liga-èbi Dêtîkè weathering a full scale bombardment durring a siege. Liga-èbi Dêtîkè's budget focused millitary grade defenses are in an unremarkable state. To some, this is the ideal sate for defences to be in. In need of absoutly nothing, and ready to serve the town as needed.

Liga-èbi Dêtîkè has the unmistakable air of a town on its last legs. Everything is a bit slipshod and ramshackle. Everyone is at work, or drinking. No one has anything in their eyes other than fear and despair. Whatever industry once fueled Liga-èbi Dêtîkè ’s existence has dried up and the town is drifting down the stream of history as it dries up. Even with that as it is, everything is just a little too worn down, a little too dirty, or much of both. The town should be gone, not dying. No one makes eye contact. Kids play quietly, but happily. Occasionally a passerby glances at you out of the corner of their eye, staring just long enough for it to be uncomfortable.

Cultural Notes

While Liga-èbi Dêtîkè might ostensibly be ruled by some other power, real control lies with the senior members of the local craft and labor guilds. Their decisions have the practical weight of law, and much of their time and effort is spent squeezing out competitors and parceling out economic opportunities in the community. Some guilds might have little or nothing to do with their original trade, and now exist purely as shells for political influence.

Liga-èbi Dêtîkè's bank was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is characterized by their massive, monolithic and 'blocky' appearance with a rigid geometric style. It was best known for its rough, unfinished surfaces, unusual shapes, heavy-looking materials, straight lines, and small windows. Modular elements were often used to form masses representing specific functional zones, grouped into a unified whole.

In Liga-èbi Dêtîkè yeast remains dormant.

Liga-èbi Dêtîkè's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in spring and involves long periods of drunkenness to channel Illusion energies of tier 2 via mimery.

History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century, Liga-èbi Dêtîkè was attacked by savage harpiess living nearby. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Liga-èbi Dêtîkè lost 211 people, 368 livestock, and 41 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 103, when members of Liga-èbi Dêtîkè's militia enacted an operation to patrol a specific area to dissuade the enemy from their current activities. The operation was complicated by one of the key objectives in the operation requiring sticking to a very strict and short time table. The conflict ended with pitched battle between both forces, which ended in defeat for Liga-èbi Dêtîkè's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Liga-èbi Dêtîkè's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
